I recently decided to start writing and sharing with you all my favourite items of each month. At the end of the month, I will write a blog post about new food items or ingredients that I have discovered, loved and recommend for you to try.
So here it is for my November Favourites!
I went to Seattle for a conference last weekend and quickly went to Target and bought a few delicious things.
I bought these Dark Chocolate Himalayan Salted Almonds from Target and oh my…. They are so DELICIOUS! My roommates and some friends tried them and we all fell in love with them. I definitely suggest trying them if you live in the US or are going there. I will make sure I buy a lot more next time I go! They’re perfect as a study snack or to bring to the library.
My roommate also went to Seattle the same weekend as me and she visited a chocolate factory (the dream!). I didn’t have time to go since I had my conference, but I really want to go next time I go to Seattle. They got to try so many different chocolates and she brought me this Theo Raspberry Chocolate bar that is delicious! I also saw their products in a few other grocery stores around Seattle but I would highly recommend going to the factory. It’s just a $10 entrance fee, you try all of their delicious chocolates and get off 10% on their products.
I have tried the Raspberry Chocolate from Lindt and, although it’s very good, the Theo is much better 🙂
I had seen these KIND cereal bars quite a lot before actually trying them. They had a booth on campus one day, my friends like them and they are also at my grocery store. But I had never actually tried them because I’m not a fan of cereal bars. They usually don’t fill me up, they’re too sweet or not gluten free. But these KIND cereal bars are gluten free, super filling and delicious! I’m not hungry for quite a while after having one and the flavours are so original. My favourites are the Salted Caramel & Dark Chocolate Nut and the Dark Chocolate Nuts & Sea Salt. Since I just discovered them I still have to try a few other ones. During my conference in Seattle we didn’t have time to have breakfast and I usually NEVER miss breakfast. It’s my favourite meal of the day and I get so hungry if I don’t have breakfast. So I decided to try these and they filled me up until lunch! You can find them at any grocery store (I find mine at Safeway).
I had a potluck with some of my friends a few weeks ago and they all had pie for dessert. Since it is gluten, I could not have any but my friend’s mum asked me if I wanted coconut milk ice cream… I had never tried it before but decided to go for it. She had the coconut flavour (Naked Coconut) and it was SO good, fresh and light. This is what I love about this Coconut Bliss coconut milk ice cream: it’s super tasty but light at the same time! So the next week I decided to get one for home, they had some really cool flavours and I went for the Cappuccino. I have tried to look for the Salted Caramel and Chocolate (!!!!!) but they never have it at my grocery store 😥 I really want to try Dark Chocolate, Mocha Maca Crunch, Chocolate Hazelnut Fudge and Chocolate Walnut Brownie next. Maybe one will be in another Favourites post! Perfect for anyone who is lactose intolerant!
And the last favourite of this month is split chickpeas. I was out of lentils but really wanted to make one of my favourite winter recipe (recipe coming soon!). My boyfriend had these in his kitchen cupboards but I had never seen them before and didn’t know how to cook them. They’re actually really good and a great alternative for lentils. I used them to make a stew and it was perfect! 🙂 They’re super cheap too!
