Hey everyone!
I hope you enjoyed the 3 recipes I posted last week for Valentine’s Day and I hope you had a great day with your loved ones 🙂
For this week, I decided to share with you another French recipe that I really like and ate growing up. It’s super easy to make and takes no time at all!
If you want it to be a Croque-Madame, then all you have to do is add a fried egg on top 🙂
Ingredients:
- 2 slices of bread
- Ham or turkey slices (2 small slices or 1 large one)
- 1 tablespoon of grain mustard
- Shredded cheese (Gruyere if possible)
- 1 tablespoon of butter
- Salt and black pepper
- Option: 1 egg for a Croque-Madame
Instructions:
Place the butter on a frying pan at medium heat.
While this gets hot, spread the mustard on one side of each slice of bread. On one of the slices of bread, add the ham, cheese, salt and black pepper. Place the other slice of bread on top (mustard facing down).
Fry on each side for about 3 min, or until the cheese melts and the bread is golden. If you want it to be a Croque-Madame, just add a fried egg on top!
I usually have my Croque-Monsieur or Madame with a bowl of soup and a salad. That day I had it with some of my Lentil & Tuna Salad leftovers.
You can also cook these in the oven for about 10-12min.
BON APPÉTIT! ❤
Top, sympa et TROP bon les croques !
