Mini Quiches

Hey everyone!

My time in France came to an end 2 weeks ago and I flew back to Canada. I’m already missing the food so much so I decided to share with you one of my favourite French foods: quiches!

Ever since I was a little kid, my mum has made these mini-quiches whenever we had guests over, for potlucks, picnics, parties or just any other occasion. They’re so easy, delicious, fun to make (especially for kids, I have great memories making these) and all the ingredients are ones that every French family has in their fridge!

So pretend being French for the day and make these delicious mini-quiches for your friends and family!

Ingredients: IMG_1091

  • 1 refrigerated puff pastry
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup (100g) of chopped bacon
  • 3 or 4 tablespoons of cream
  • 1 tablespoon of grating of nutmeg
  • Pepper
  • Option: 3/4 cup (80g) of shredded Gruyere cheese (or Swiss cheese)

Preheat the oven to 390° Fahrenheit (200° Celsius).

Open the puff pastry and spread it a little by using a rolling pin.

With a round cookie cutter (with fluted round if possible), cut the base of your mini-quiches and place on the mini baking pans (for mini muffins or mini tarts).

Use a fork to make a few holes in the puff pastry. Then add a few pieces of chopped bacon on each quiche, as well as some cheese if desired.

In a bowl, mix together the eggs, cream, pepper and nutmeg. Add a tablespoon of the mixture in each mini-quiche.

Bake in the oven for 25min (or until golden).
